I'm sorry for not answering sooner to the documentation issues, but I am a
bit overwhelmed by all your posts, and by your conciseness ;)
Anyway just a couple of things:
Unlike you, or Mathieu, I've only been around free software for about three
years, and was pretty computer-illiterate before that. My experience is
limited to my personal experiments with Debian on my laptop, and messing
around a bit with friend's computers. I have just finished a "free software
degree", where I have learnt a lot, but I am still no expert.
However, I managed to do a local test-install of savane, having no previous
experience with such a system. Although the group type configuration was a
bit baffling at first, I managed to understand what it was. 'Homepage' wasn't
a problem either, and looking around savane implementations like gna! or
savannah, things get clear soon.
Personally, I don't expect to have everything done when I approach free
software, I actually enjoy investigating and finding things out for myself.
Of course, having complete and comprehensive docs would be great, although I
did think some stuff was not worth explaining, since with a little bit of
thought it can be understood.
But anyway, this is not the right place for this discussion, so let me get up
to date with all the issues and we can start work on the docs?
