I moved toward him asking him if he was aware of the possible name clashes and asking him to reconsider the name of his project since it has not yet been published. Moreover, at this step, I'm not sure I am willing to advertise in favor of someone who makes moves that I consider hostile, due to the unwillingness of this person to take into consideration this as a potential issue. I actually think this story as a "obvious misbehaving", just like if I had decided to publish a software named aRuby going forward to the APP. As said in my previous mail, I know there are other software named Savane. Considering they are on a completely different topic, no confusion was ever made. However, if these projects authors were to complain about a possible confusion, I would be willing to reconsider the name of Savane, that would seem plain fair to me, not playing the legal threat game (saying I registered the same). In other words, I do not want to contact this person a second time. If someone get in touch with him and find a way that would be profitable to both our projects, I'd be happy. That's why I included you and Loic in my original mail, thinking that it could be helpful to have some support from more or less external recognized institutions like FSF France. But considering there yet no harm done, I cannot, I do not want to, continue talking with someone that replied with what I consider to be simili threats and disregard. > Regards, -- Mathieu Roy + | Thalie : <http://yeupou.coleumes.org/> | Clio : <http://clio.coleumes.org/> | Euterpe : <http://crap.is.free.fr/> | <http://kromaniaks.coleumes.org/> +-----------------------------------------------------------+
