I submitted this info in the bug tracker, but somehow the mail didn't go

Yes, I get your point. You're right, those are two issues in one report.
However, the bug report is now closed and there's a selection box added in
the CVS HEAD.
You might want to take a look at the test install, I've sync'ed it with the
current CVS and it's running there nicely.
