Yes, there's nothing exim specific in Savane.
Some Savane-powered sites use exim because it is the GPL base SMTP provided
with Debian GNU/Linux, is simple to configure and scales very well, but
Savane itself only need a SMTP server to run, and should run with whatever
SMTP (exim, postfix, sendmail...).
Unless I'm mistaken, LCG Savannah (http://savannah.cern.ch) runs Savane with
Postfix, without specific setup.
