Details:

Note: I'm reinstalling savane from scratch, using ver. 1.1, and going through
the docs and config in great detail. Since posts to gna.org/support appear to
also go to the savane-doc-dev list, this appears to be the best place & method
of noting any issues that arise since a) I'm hoping for answers to the
questions I'm raising here, from savane support, and b) flagging things for
documentation clarification in savane-doc, so other people won't have to ask
these same qusetions in the future.
I'll leave it to the savane admins to move any of these to savane-dev as bugs
to be fixed (e.g., better comments in the actual savannah.conf.pl that explain
what these options really do; I don't think it will be enough in all cases to
simply update the savane-doc documentation, since some people will simply
read and edit the savannah.conf.pl and consider the comments inside it to be
"the" documentation.

So here's the first one:

savannah.conf.pl says:

*****************
Frontend look:
      # Default theme, logo name and dimensions.
      # The engine will search for a file like
      # savannah/www/images/$theme.theme/# our $sys_logo_name="";
      # Ex: "savannah", "floating.png", "150", "130"
      # our $sys_themedefault="";
      # our $sys_logo_name="";
*****************
This does not seem to make any sense. Only two config variables are given,
and there isn't one to supply dimensions. I imagine that it should either
be:
      our $sys_logo_dimensions="150,130"
or
      our $sys_logo_width="150"
      our $sys_logo_width="130"
but who knows? I'm certainly not going to experiement, after all the
problems I've already had trying to get savane running correctly...

And what is the "savannah" in 'Ex: "savannah", "floating.png", "150", "130"'?
 Is that the $sys_themedefault?

And what is this supposed to mean?:
savannah/www/images/$theme.theme/# our $sys_logo_name="";

I do not have any such directory as [something]/savannah/www. Why should I
have to put the logo image under the theme directory for all 20 or 50 or
whatever available themes? That strikes me as very silly. And I don't see
what the "#" and the spaces in "# our $sys_logo_name" are for, nor what the
'=""' at the end of this is.

In short this part of the comments are not very instructive at all. I think
what the average admin user is going to want to do is use the default theme
(why isn't a default already set? New installers have no idea what any of
the theme names are), set a custom logo filename and location (and have some
idea where to put it - the example path isn't meaningful enough), and have
the necessary commands relating to image dimensions, if any are actually
required, be present in the savannah.conf.pl as commented out examples. I
also think that the average admin is going to want the same logo icon to be
available to ALL available themes, since users can select what theme they
want.
