Details:
Beuc asked me to submit this here. Take a look at
http://savannah.gnu.org/patch/?func=detailitem&item_id=434
Please implement something to stop spamming from anon users - either a Turing
test or the ability to disable comments, with an explnation, but not delete
them.
Here is the conversation from IRC
<skwashd-laptop> the same bug report is continuing to be spammed
<skwashd-laptop> and i don't mean bug spamming ... but spam posted as a
comment
<Beuc> This is problematic.
<skwashd-laptop> ja
<Beuc> Do you think you could post a support request at project Savane?
https://gna.org/p/savane
<Beuc> Basically maybe a tracker admin could
<Beuc> moderate the postings in a way or another
<Beuc> for example, the content could be concealed, replaced by "Comment #N
Removed by Admin (Reason: ...)"
<skwashd-laptop> Beuc: i can make the report
<Beuc> Still, the content could be restored, just in case.
<Beuc> Thanks
<skwashd-laptop> i would be happy with being able to disable a comment ...
with a reason
<skwashd-laptop> here is the report ...
http://savannah.gnu.org/patch/?func=detailitem&item_id=434
<skwashd-laptop> 4 lots of spam ... on a 9 comment bug report ... 1 is me
noting the spam
<Beuc> I wonder if the spammer wrote some bot specificaly against Savane...
<Beuc> most probably we use some comment naming for the fields
<Beuc> s/comment/common/
Keep up the great work
Dave
