Update: I wrote and deployed basic monitoring. It alerts me on mailman based delays for public mailing list posts that are not held for moderation. So far, in a day of monitoring, there hasn't been any delays greater than 1 minute, I started by configuring it to alert on any delay greater than 15 minutes.
