It's our hottest problem right now. AI Crawler bots. Plus another
Large Stupid Botnet. We seem to have the Large Stupid Botnet not
stopped and not mitigated but toned down enough to live with. But
like everyone else on the Internet we are suffering from the hammering
of the AI Crawlers. They endlessly hammer at the systems. It
overshelms them. That's what's happening when you see the 502 timeouts.

Actually no. If someone is blocked using the IP DDoS countermeasure
then they will not get a 502 they will get nothing but a timeout. If
they are blocked at the firewall they will not have any connectivity
at all and will not get a 502. If they are getting a 502 then they
are not being blocked.

The 502 errors are a symptom of the machine being overwhelmed and
the request is timing out.
