I expect most project will store the main branch in / for simplicity, in
which case this is a copy/paste command. The text points that projects may use
alternate path.

Dunno, from what I can see 'branch' is what is generally recommended.
'checkout' looks closer to CVS/SVN, but it's a shame to use a DVCS and miss
all the 'D' :)
