Summary: Submission of media navigator Project: Savannah Administration Submitted by: whoneedselta Submitted on: Monday 09/11/2006 at 15:42 Should Start On: Monday 09/11/2006 at 00:00 Should be Finished on: Thursday 09/21/2006 at 00:00 Category: Project Approval Priority: 5 - Normal Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Percent Complete: 0% Open/Closed: Open Effort: 0.00 _______________________________________________________ Details: A new project has been registered at Savannah This project account will remain inactive until a site admin approves or discards the registration. == REGISTRATION ADMINISTRATION == While this item will be useful to track the registration process, approving or discarding the registration must be done using the specific "Group Administration" page, accessible only to site administrators, effectively logged as site administrators (superuser): <https://savannah.nongnu.org/siteadmin/groupedit.php?group_id=8772> == REGISTRATION DETAILS == Full Name: ---------- *media navigator* System Group Name: ----------------- *medianav* Type: ----- non-GNU software & documentation License: -------- GNU General Public License V2 or later Description: ------------ Greetings, the project that I would like to submit is a fully customizable media content navigator, for directory-based (tree-like) organized content, which runs under GNU/Linux using primarly the gnome(gtk+,glib, pango) programming facilities. That is to say that given a directory-path as input the program will generate a (customisable) visual navigation gui for the directory contents, acting upon selections (other directories, files e.t.c) according to meta-data (given in seperate .info files for each element in the directory). The meta-data include information such as: title, description, image(png-format) , action-when-selected , system-command-assosiated-with-selection , colors , sound e.t.c The navigation input should support gamepads (apart from the usual keyboard and mouse) A sample use for such software, is to create a so-called "freedom-toaster" that is to say a program used for navigating throught dvd-image categories, for burning in a "publicly-accessed" dvd-r. Another use would be to create a private-collection navigator for home use (selecting audio-playlists, video-playlists e.t.c) through a nice front-end. The code resides in : http://www.softnet.tuc.gr/%7Ewhoneedselta/midwar/media_nav.tar.gz/download and is very draft ... Another goal of this submition is to get to know the savannah facilities better for my graduation diploma project at TUC(Technical University of Crete) that I would like to submit in the near future.(also GPL'ed) _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.nongnu.org/task/?5895> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.nongnu.org/
