No, in the case of GNU Grep, there is a requirement for all
(non-trivial) portions to be explicitly assigned to the FSF (with
trivial changes automatically given FSF ownership).  I have
executed such an assignment/disclaimer for myself, with explicit
authority from my employer (Grouse Software):
