Hi,
We are trying to start a swathanthra software user group in our
locality-ponnani(Kerala,India). As part of its online presence, thought
of making it on a site with FS Culture than on a google group(that i see
in majority). I was trying to make it up on savannah but registering in
Savannah requires link to a tarball obviously as its for Free Software
development. We dont aim to start any software development at this early
stage, rather we are a group with majority of non-techies or even Newbie
users. Aim for making this is to spread the value of Freedom and
different possibilities students and youth can have with activities
related to Free Software. Can i make use of savannah for this purpose or
If its not savannah, what could be a good place to start with a file
section and mailing list for starting such a group ?(i.e an alternative
to google group?)
