GUG LA is the GNU Users Group of Los Angeles, located in California, USA. Objectives include the networking of local GNU hackers, participation in GNU projects, and promotion of free software.
At the moment, we are putting out a call to all GNU hackers and GNU/FSF supporters in the Los Angeles area to join. Activities in the queue for 2010 include a build fest for GNU/HURD, GNU Emacs Lisp discussions, and an introduction to volunteer opportunities at the Free Software Foundation. GUG LA is currently writing a document "Guidelines for Creating GNU Spaces", used as the manual for the inception, philosophy and management of the group. Once an initial version is released, it will be forked to the FLOSS Manuals website (flossmanuals.net) for community work and release. Please consider signing up if you are in the Los Angeles area and are interested in participating in an active GNU users group. Visit us at the Savannah link below to put in your request to join GUG LA, and please remember to include your areas of interest. Thank you.
