I just realized that I used stream parsing utilities to clean up
insert_metadata() and the annotate: protocol at some point. Protocol
resolving errors are all caught, but errors from an operator are
deliberately not masked. Do you use one of these, and how ? Maybe these
parsers don't like strange characters, like polish ones ?
