Some things are too new and little used, notably the clock system: I
don't like the current naming, and it's only been tested in a few
cases. There are other things that need to be polished, most of which
with associated tickets attached to the milestone on trac: priorities
among decoders in order to deal with wrong detections; optimizing
conversions such as audio_to_stereo and deciding whether we include
them by default on single(), playlist(), etc; making type errors more
readable. All those design choices are important since we'll have to
be backward compatible in 1.x versions.

Also, video and midi have only been tested on tiny examples, and there
are signs of bugs. Finally, we haven't written any doc for a while,
which is okay for a beta but not for a real release.

I think that a beta version will help us to clarify all that, and get
people to report issues, helping us to finalize a nice 1.0.

Cheers,

David
