Good catch. I could easily fix it by disabling the "protect" function in the 
reference_to_liqi script. I suspect that it is too radical. Does anybody know 
in what cases it is needed? With an understanding of that I could use the 
function only on the fields that require it (we're parsing XML, so it's 
structured).
