Moving this to savonet-devl... The type system isn't a problem: declaring a source active is only useful to allow ignoring it without a warning. In a sense, the active_source thing almost means output; I had considered this different name but in the end preferred to stick to the few basic concepts, also because things in add_clock and shutdown make sense for active sources and not only for outputs.
So we could have a wrapper for input.harbor (renamed or not) which attaches output.dummy, optionally or not.
