It's not a bug, it's a feature! Crossfading mixes two tracks, so there is no canonical place to insert a track limit. If you think of it, you don't want to leave a source in the middle of a crossfade. (Finally, if for some reason, in a particular case, one wants track limits, it is possible to design the transitions of cross() to insert it as desired.)
