Hi list,
Gabriel Afana has been using liquidsoap for quite some time. He runs
the DJ radio <http://www.plurlife.com> and developed a web-based
interface for it. Gabriel has recently cleaned up his code, called
Dromey, to make it available to the world at
<http://www.dromey.com/source/dromey.zip>. I haven't installed it
myself but I've seen it running and I had a look at it, it seems nice.
Check it out!
A few features:
- input.harbor() for live shows, with time-based authentication
and automatic kicking (if I remember correctly Gabriel is the pioneer
in that domain, and he might still be the only one with such a system
polished and in production)
- automatic schedule that can be viewed or edited on the web
(his system is tightly coupled with liquidsoap in the sense that it
knows exactly when songs will start and stop)
- upload files, request files and announces via the web interface
- different profiles (user, manager, admin)
- monitoring of all details via the web
I believe several people on this list will be interested in his
system. The live show and scheduling features in particular are often
talked about here. You guys might be able to use directly his system,
perhaps after minor tweaks. Otherwise, Gabriel says that it should be
possible to re-use just a module.
The future of the Dromey project is up to you. You might convince
Gabriel to add features, fix bugs. My hope is that several people will
be able to unite on that code base and build something that can be
re-used in various configurations and is maintained over time. This
would be a big step forward for the community.
Cheers & thank you Gabriel.
