True, this requires some infrastructure/organization on your side.
You're the one who chooses what's the best solution, of course.

Yes, you can have mount-based authentication. You can also use an
authentication function which could depend on the time of the day.
This was implemented for somebody who had similar requirements, with
several DJs connecting at various times.
