Hello, We currently use a lot of liquidsoap instances (we are around 1600 simultaneous LS instances).
We are using cheap server based on Core i7 with 12 GB ram. We are able to start around 90 LS process / server. We tested a lot of hardware (dual opteron, dual Xeon 5500 series, core i7, ...). The best perf / euro was achieved with the core i7 (currently core i7 920). So I think you should better use several LS processes instead of one serving 10 streams.
