Hi David,

Yes, I can fire up liquidsoap (/usr/local/etc/rc.d/liquidsoap start) via
crontab as user 'rcr'. Also, it works via cli as user 'liquidsoap'but only
if
I supply a pwd that I had to create. So, user/group 'liquidsoap' cannot be
used since crontab does the calling for start/stop (rather difficult to
supply a user/pwd at that level).

Since the whole site and all station material needs to be run as user 'rcr'
with group 'wheel', I think that's where the problem lies. While checking
things
out, I noticed a typo in the set log file path - which is now fixed. Now I
get the same error as one of my earliest 'init' startup problems: it now
throws
an error on the hash mark in '#!/usr/local/bin/liquidsoap'
(liquidsoap.liq) [Back
to square one :(

So, this morning, I will set all scripts to user rcr, group wheel,
including
all the .liq scripts, and both the log file and pidfile paths.

Hopefully, that might fix the problem of no log files and no pid, but
somehow
I doubt it.

I am very concerned that liquidsoap may never work for me. Since I've built
my whole station concept around it, I would have no alternative but to
forget
about ever going online. I've toyed with trying another streamer, but
nothing
will do the job except for liquidsoap. So, I'm really at your mercy to get
this
going!

I greatly appreciate your help and expertise.

Thanks,
Andre
