Hello,
I would like to ask you about flac/wav and other audio format reencoding
difference, how much this impacts on perfomance and on resources.
For example, if first case, we have to use mp3/aac/ogg files and output
them (on air) in similar formats, e.g. mp3 to ogg/aac, aac to mp3/ogg, ogg
to mp3/aac,
In second case, we have to use flac/wav files and output them (on air) in
mp3/ogg/aac.
How much will be the difference in resources, that liquidsoap will use?
Do we really need to reencode flac/wav to more formats with more
compression to save resources or difference will be not so big?
We are very interested in CPU (most important for us) and RAM resources
allocation difference.
