For anyone curious as to why I said what i said in the last post, this from the 
liquidsoap release announcement and a question I posed regarding apt-get.

. I hope the people that maintain apt-get  can get the 1.2.0 release in to 
apt-get at some point as this is beginning to get a bit frustrating.
