Thanks for this, I'll review this ticket and see what it tells me.

Could we not do the following in our .liq file
these playlists were modified with example data instead of live data.
all = playlist("/primarydir")
grumble = playlist("/dir1", "/dir2", "/dir3")
etc. down the line?

Hi Shane,

This request looks like it was addressed in the following ticket.
https://github.com/savonet/liquidsoap/issues/282

It's looks like a filter param was added to the playlist source type, but I don't see the reference updated in the docs.
http://savonet.sourceforge.net/doc-svn/reference.html#playlist

Reading through the commit at the bottom of the ticket, it looks like it should work as expected.

    Hello all,

    I hope this message finds you well.

    I've been dabbling in liquidsoap for awhile, and am enjoying it's
    ability to do what I want when I want.

    I googled forever, and ran across this list and was told it wouldn't
    hurt to ask my question.

    At the moment, I have a stream that simply cycles through about 19,000
    songs, but this folder isn't organized by genre, and really, this
    sucks.
    I don't have the time to reorganize the folder, and I'm wondering
    can I
    simply create separate genre based liq files that I can call from the
    main stream.liq file during the proper schedule blocks to play a
    specific genre?

    Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Shane
