you need to change from the squeeze dependencies:

root@build# aptitude update
root@build# aptitude install gettext autoconf libltdl-dev automake \
 libtool autotools-dev gcc libreadline-dev readline-common libffi-dev \
 libgdbm-dev libgmp3-dev libgmp3-doc libgtk2.0-doc libgtk2.0-dev \
 libpango1.0-dev libpango1.0-doc lsb-build-desktop3


back to the wheezy dependencies:

 root@build# aptitude update
 root@build# aptitude install libffi-dev libgdbm-dev \
   libgmp-dev libgtk2.0-dev libpango1.0-0 libgnutls


the squeeze dependencies won't work.
