Hi, Heike,

I can see that this message is still uknown by the OOffice people...

Now I an starting to understand why the bugs take so long to be fixed.... This one exists since the first version.

About Data loss: suppose that you have a 2 thousand lines calc sheet, with all your sales to all clients, and you need to change one product name, just to fix it You turn on a filter and select the name you want to fix, so you can fix all the lines with this name in one operation. Suppose also, that there are only two lines with this product name: the first and the last lines. You change one, copy it and paste it to the two lines, and save the file. There you are. ALL 2 thousand lines with the product names now are equal to the two you pasted. Isn´t this a big data loss?

My best regards,
Teodorico

Btw, calling it "Deadly Paste error ... causes tons of data loss" is
a _bit_ exaggerated, IMHO.

The message was sent to Frank, at Sun Microsystems first, using the link of
OpenOffice homepage, now is being sent again to the addresses Mr. Frank
told me about.

Don't know which Mr. Frank you're referring to, but the normal way to
report bugs is to file an issue, see
http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/project_issues.html

Please do so.

Thanks
 Eike
