 Well, start with part 1, but part 2 is the really interesting one from a 
Scala point of view.

>From what they're saying, there should be some huge Scala wins; GC for 
small short-lived objects is much improved, for one.  But the big one is 
that it seems like the 64k limit will become irrelevant.  FYI, they talk 
about Scala quite a bit.  (And they talk about making the 64k stuff 
available in a support library, so it's not just for Android-L.)

I'm really hoping that they're going to make my Eclipse plugin 
(https://github.com/banshee/AndroidProguardScala) completely obsolete.
