Thanks for the pointer. So in messing around with this I unmounted the drive and made my new file system, but I'm a little unsure what the "Scalr way" is from here. If I manually add an entry to /etc/ fstab for the drive then I can mount it manually. It seems a little sporadic on the auto mount though. Sometimes when the instance reboots the ebs drive is there, and sometimes it isn't. It always seems to be attached at /dev/sdb, but it doesn't always mount. I'm guessing that I'm just not getting it exactly right yet.... Any tips?
