Yes, a way to add delay the addition of IP to the DNS zone until a user-triggered time would be very useful.
In my case, I don't want the web servers in the round-robin DNS list until after various things have happened on the host (e.g. after the EBS volume has been mounted and my custom scripts have run to start mysqld, Apache and fetched the web content).
