Hello,

I am running scalr-2.5.r6086 and am experimenting with Chef
integration using a private chef server. I see that this version is
not the same as what is running on scalr.net. There are no Chef Server
or Chef Runlist menu options under the Roles menu in 2.5.r6086.
However, when creating a role using role builder, I am able to select
Chef and build a mixed image. After the build I can enable chef in the
role configuration area.

If I enable chef I am able to add my chef server and select roles and
recipes that I would like to have applied to that scalr role, which
seems to work just fine. The problem is that once I launch a new
instance, none of the recipes are executed, and I have an empty /etc/
chef/client.rb on the instance.

I am also seeing an error that I am unable to track down in my Event
Logs:

Message: 'validator_name'

I'm not sure if this error is related to my enabling of chef or not.
Is anyone successfully integrating chef in the open source version of
scalr? If so, are you using this built in functionality, or are you
bootstrapping your machines via some other method? Is chef support
broken in this release?

Thanks for any help that the community can provide!
Regards,
Phil
