Rich,

Replacing one LAMP role with another will not retain MySQL data (unless
you're just creating snapshot of server of the same role).
LAMP role incorporates logic of its components, so this warning comes from
MySQL role behavior, where users often confuse server snapshot and MySQL
data snapshot terms. Just make sure to always create snapshots of the
master server.
