Hi Abi, You might want to follow a few of the tutorials. The farm you created doesn't have any roles in it, so there is naturally no instances of a role to launch.
Scalr also deliberately doesn't show you existing running infrastructure to avoid interfering with potentially production infrastructure. Let us know if you have additional questions.
