Congrats for the successful initiative!!!
Reminds of my own school days of DOS and LOGO in 80's,
the students of that age-group are very curious and experimental.
How abt:
1.Preparing and putting some flowcharts and faqs in less-technical/informal
language[e.g. 'connecting 2 or more computers' instead of
'nfs,nis,networking']
explaining the new system and features and advantages using Linux; as
mentioned by Leo.[lemme know if I can contribute].
2.A briefing for teachers to ask questions and help them understand and
utilise the new system better.
3.A small quiz or sort of things to help increase interest and involvement.
Anything to nurture self learning and exploration which is core to free sw
and osdn. It sure is more a human issue than technical.:-)

Best wishes,
Girish S.
