A few bits of news... We've almost completed our reorganization, to have two full-time (or almost full time) developers working with specific schools local to them. It has been a little slow finalizing the agreements with the schools -- we're making this a closer and more formal commitment than our previous attempts, and this takes more formalities with more layers of bureaucracy.
However, we now have a signed agreement with the Vilinius Lyceum, an International Baccalaureate high school in Vilnius. http://www.licejus.lt Ignas Mikalajūnas from Programmers of Vilnius will be implementing and deploying SchoolTool for the Lyceum. The new member of our team, Jean-Francois Roche, is finalizing arrangements to work with possibly two schools in the Brussels area with connections to the Python community. Also, the CanDo project continues to gain momentum in Virginia. The Virginia Beach school district will be the second to use CanDo for competency tracking, and they've secured additional backing from the state and National Science Foundation. We've been working on integrating the CanDo team into more aspects of SchoolTool development, which will strengthen both projects going forward. Dave Welsh recently posted 12 screencasts on how to setup and use CanDo here: http://www.careercenter.arlington.k12.va.us/cando/use_cando.htm --Tom
