Hello, all, There will be a new course offered this spring on the Philosophy of Technology.  The professor is a philosopher, Svetozar Minkov, who will be visiting MIT for the spring term.  Might be of interest for some of you. best, Dave SP.2H2 Readings in the Philosophy of Technology  ()  Prereq: None  Units: 3-0-9  TBA.  Surveys various conceptions of the nature of science and society and how they relate to each other. Examines fundamental alternative views through the works of Aristotle, Bacon, Rousseau, Nietzsche, and Weber. Topics include goals, meaning, beneficence, and manipulability of nature and human nature; the relation between wisdom, power, goodness, and happiness; and the character and direction of modern politics and science.  S.
