You are warmly invited to a special "Sensing the Unseen" seminar this Friday, May 6. Please note NEW time (1-5pm) & venue (MIT Bartos Theater)! Please join us for an afternoon of multimedia presentation and discussion. Our final "Sensing the Unseen" seminar focuses on how recording technologies - film, audio, images, interactive media - change the ways that we investigate and portray the evanescent, the transitory, the just-out-of-view. The first part of the afternoon seminar will be devoted to screenings and discussions of ethnographically inflected works-in-progress by area media makers. The second part of the seminar features a multimedia round-table with presentations of new work by graduate student media-makers. We will conclude with an open discussion on the future of media anthropology as a mode of sensory study. All seminar meetings are free and open to the public - no registration is required.
