"Towards New Histories of Production: Where Have We Been, and Where Might We Go?" The cultural turn and the emphasis on consumption has marginalised questions of production from many branches of history. We need both to renew the pioneering work of the 1970s and early 1980s on the topic, and to look to the renewed emphasis on production in several branches of history.
