Hello, all,

In case you hadn't seen it (because it had blended into its surroundings so
effectively?!), I wanted to make sure you knew that Prof. Hanna Rose Shell's
book has recently been published:

Hide and Seek: Camouflage, Photography, and the Media of Reconnaissance (Zone
Books, 2012).

You can learn more about the book here:

http://mitpress.mit.edu/catalog/item/default.asp?ttype=2&tid=12886

and you can read a brief and engaging interview with Hanna here, as well as
view a wonderful slide show of some of the color plates featured in Hanna's
book:

Please join me in congratulating Hanna!

best,
Dave

ps: And a quick reminder: the Morison Lecture will be held this Friday, 11 May,
4-6pm in room E14-633. The prize-winning lecturer is our own alumnus, Prof.
Greg Clancey, who will be speaking on "Telling Stories about Technology in the
Asian Century." Reception to follow. I look forward to seeing you there.
