Yes, I agree, "Open base as tree" should be under the File menu, with 
the "open recent base as tree" just below. The idea of Reference DB is 
present in Chessbase (if I am correct only one can be flagged as 
reference), but I don't get the added value as "Open recent base as 
tree" is usually sufficient as the recent file list can keep track of up 
to 10 bases.

I use such menu nestings on Pocket PC because I have to, but on a normal 
PC screen, I personally prefer more linear menus (even if the list is a 
bit long). That is, I find things good enough in their current state.
