> Does this mailing list actually support both? Well, it is recently used mostly for development discussions about scid continued. Not sure whether anybody active here is still using original scid.
> Is one preferred over the other? Well, is chessbase 9 preferred over chessbase 6? Or so... Original scid is not developed anymore, it is frozen at some - still useful and stable - version. Scid continued has quite a few new features (full support for UCI engines is the thing most people spot immediately, but there are far more). You may happen to dislike some changes, but in general it is able to do everything original scid did, it handles the same database format and it adds new features. > And last but not least, is development continuing on either > version? Original scid has not changed for a few years and is unlikely to change in the future - its original author disappeared and nobody was allowed to directly take over the project. Scid continued is actively developed as you can see from change logs and release history. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
