I prefer to keep things simple :
- for mate display when engine is locked, I fixed the bug by going back to
old display
- adding a variation when engine is locked is too difficult and useless
(case of variations entered)

I suppose you mean like Aquarium (Rybka UI) display. That's not easy to get
the same result.
