Well, as Pascal pointed out ETCL is for CE only, ActiveState
on the ohter hand has the problem as well, and on Ubuntu
you're so near the bleeding edge that I'd guess you'll
hardly get a newer version than those supplied.
Therefore, I do not see a way to get this fixed. You might
try to rise a bug in Ubuntu. Probably, they'll fix it and
the fix makes it up to TCL as well. (AFAIK "reportbug" works
on Ubnutu like on Debian.)

There is another issue with fonts, but you only notice that
if you have a setup with TCL 8.4 and start up at 8.5. (Simply
the naming conventions of fonts changed.) Except that I did
not yet find anything. I run ActiveState TCL 8.5 on Debian
Etch (since some days "oldstable".)
