I can not comment on tabs.

Highlight last move would also be good in other areas,
Currently no such function exists, however.

It is. Just disable Options / Moves / Highlight suggested
move. Both is mutually exclusive.

With suggested moves off you should be able to click on the
originating field and the target field. At least I do so all
the time. If it does not work it would be a Mac issue.

Please make sure that not any of the game contained in this
huge PGN is larger than 32k. I did this kind of import for
several times without any problems. However, I was recently
told that e.g. UltraCorr II contains really large annotated
games (>100kB).

<IMHO>
If this is a general issue on the Mac (or any other
platform) I think it would have to be solved before
releasing 3.7 to the public. (If not, then at least classic
mode should be the default as it works.)
