Hi,

atm SCID has two ways to train openings, one is through creating an
opening database and using Play->Training->Openings (which is what I
used before) but now that I used the mask feature I see that similar
things can be done through the mask feature. There is also the opening
editor, which imho is a nice feature as it is good to have a repertoire
written down.

All three are nice and I can see benefits that one tool has and others
don't and vice versa. E.g. Personally I like the trainer for testing
opening knowledge but I will be using mask to keep notes on openings.

Is there any interoperability between these 3 tools
(tree+mask/repertoire editor/training openings), that is can only the
"masked lines" be copied to an opening database? can the repertoire
editor files be converted to a mask or the other way round? if not which
of the three opening training methods is likely to see the most
development support in the future? I am asking because it makes sense to
use the tools which will receive active support to store openings.

Cheers,

Klearchos
