Workshop for Teachers:


Where:  Indiana Dunes Environmental Learning Center,  700 Howe Road, Porter, 
Indiana
    
When:  June 15-16, beginning 3 p.m. Friday until 8 p.m. Saturday

Who:  K-12 Teachers, educators, scout leaders, youth directors.  The goal of 
Dunes 101 is to provide teachers with the knowledge, activities and materials 
to more effectively use the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore for class field 
trips.  Hands-on activities, discussion and field experiences at sites within 
the national lakeshore actively involve participants in learning about the 
park's ecosystems, plants and animals.   
    
Cost:  $62/person includes lodging, meals, registration and educational 
materials.  Many scholarships are available to all teachers on a first-come, 
first-served basis.  One hour of graduate credit available through Indiana 
University Northwest for an additional fee.
