That is what you see with the issue described in
https://access.redhat.com/knowledge/solutions/306063 .  On the client,
you may find duplicate files, missing files, etc. On the server, the
same directory lists everything just fine. And this is caused by a bug
on the server (more specifically EL5.9, 32-bit).
