Thanks, Jarek, but for some reason it does not work: the content of /etc/modprobe.conf is:
alias eth0 r8169 alias eth1 bcm43xx alias snd-card-0 snd-intel8x0 options snd-card-0 index=0 options snd-intel8x0 index=0 remove snd-intel8x0 { /usr/sbin/alsactl store 0 >/dev/null 2>&1 || : ; }; /sbin/modprobe -r --ignore-remove snd-intel8x0 and when I run sudo modprobe -r snd-card-0 && sudo modprobe snd-card-0 I've got the following in /var/log/messages: Jul 3 20:57:35 noclue kernel: cannot find the slot for index 0 (range 0-1) Jul 3 20:57:35 noclue kernel: Intel ICH: probe of 0000:00:02.7 failed with error -12 and I cannot use xmms. Any idea?
