Hello,
Could anyone help me with the following question:
one of the latest security updates has dbus-* packages:
dbus-1.1.2-12.el5.i386.rpm
dbus-glib-0.73-8.el5.i386.rpm
dbus-libs-1.1.2-12.el5.i386.rpm
dbus-x11-1.1.2-12.el5.i386.rpm
dbus-devel-1.1.2-12.el5.i386.rpm
dbus-glib-devel-0.73-8.el5.i386.rpm
dbus-python-0.70-7.el5.i386.rpm
dbus-python package has the same version, the same size and build time
as in the initial SL52 distro.

So the question is - why the same package placed in the security
updates? Or it should be rebuilded with new dbus-* packages?
I'm not linux guru, I just want to understand =)
Thank you.

It is actually the original dbus-python rpm that is in SL 5.0. It
hasn't changed all the way to SL 5.3. It is the exact same rpm. so
there is no need to update it or reinstall it, because it is the same.
Why is it in the security updated? It just got swept in along with the
other dbus stuff. We wanted to make sure that all the dbus stuff worked
together so we took the whole bundle and put it in the errata section.
I didn't notice that the dbus-python was actually the original
dbus-python until you sent this e-mail.
But if you are doing normal security updates, nothing is going to be
updated because yum can tell it is the same.
