Hello,
In SL 5, there is the package openssl097a the is used for compatibility with packages compiled on SL 4. The problem is that in SL4 x86_64, there was both openssl.i386 and openssl.x86_64. But in SL5 there is only openssl097a x86_64. So a program compiled on SL4 x86_64, might not be able to run on SL5 x86_64. So we are planning on including the i386 version of openssl097a in the x86_64 version. Thus far, all of our tests have worked and we feel this will not have a negative impact on any machine. But we would still like to put this out in testing.

we've been installing this package on our SL5 x86_64 systems for more
than two years now.

Maybe I could persuade you to include compat-readline43.i386 as well? The same reasons apply, and there's even less potential for problems.

Apparently, both will be included with TUV's 5.4 release (see BZ
#482800).

Cheers,

Sounds good.
compat-readline43.i386 is in the same directory as the openssl, just so we don't have too many directories. If nothing looks terrible, I'll put them both out into the regular errata on tuesday.
